How Long Should We Stay?
Foz do Iguaçu is a beautiful city filled with natural wonders, historic sites, and many attractions to experience. That being said, it also a city central to South America with direct flights to Rio de Janeiro, Peru, Chile, and many other exciting destinations to explore. If you are only planning on being in Foz do Iguaçu for the wedding, we would recommend staying three nights minimum: The night of the 8th, 9th, and 10th. If you also want to explore the famous Cataratas (Waterfalls), we recommend saving one full day to experience Foz do Iguaçu National Park.
Where should we stay?
Our families will be staying at the Sanma Hotel until Tuesday Nov 12th. You are more than welcome to join us here or stay in one of the many other beautiful locations in Foz do Iguaçu. We have listed a few recommendations below. Wherever you choose to stay, we will have transportation accommodations at the end of the night from the wedding party to your hotel.

This hotel is located right outside of the National Park (Blue Zone) and offers authentic Brazilian dining, on-site activities, and a beautiful property to explore. A brief overview of locations:
Foz do Iguaçu is filled with many hotel options and can seem rather overwhelming. We have a few recommendations below, but with how many hotels are in the area, you may find one that we are not familiar with that offers the experience you are looking for. We broke down four distinct areas where you can find most of the hotel options and what to expect in these areas.
Green - Iguazú National Park
There is one hotel within the park (Green Zone). This is the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas.
Blue - Resorts, Farm style, and Park Hotels
Hotels in this area tend to be aimed towards international guests. The per night price of this area are reflective of this with similar nightly costs of what we would see at US hotels. Most of these hotels will include many onsite amenities and activities. There is next to nothing in walking distance in this area and you will likely have to Uber each time you leave the property. (Don't worry. Uber is affordable and easily available.)
Red - Small boutique hotels and hostels
This area is in the heart of the food and entertainment district. Some of the best restaurants, bars, street food, and activities will be a short walk from your stay. Though many of the hotels and hostels here will have little amenities, the per night price will be priced for locals at sub $50 a night stays. If you plan to stay in this area make sure to research specifics on your hotel such as common spaces, if they can store your luggage, types of rules and services that they offer. These things can vary alot in this area.
Yellow - Your traditional hotels
Downtown Foz do Iguaçu, like many cities, is a mix of entertainment, businesses, restaurants, and more. You will find your traditional hotels here with amenities, services, and rules similar to your standard hotels in the US. This area is walkable with many things nearby. There is a huge public park with a walking track that is just North of the city that can be explored.
